NFL 2025 season: Week six

Live coverage features live text for the weekend matchups via various channels, starting with the Broncos-Jets clash in London (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Also, audio coverage is available on select stations for a separate game (beginning at 9 PM BST).

It's week six in the football calendar , following recent talk regarding the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles being possible championship contenders, each lost their unbeaten records.

Notable during those contests was the number of infractions both conceded. Philadelphia did so at crucial times so they kind of beat themselves after leading by two touchdowns going into the final quarter versus the Denver Broncos, who play overseas this weekend.

But it was good to see how Denver's QB the rookie was able to overcome the shortfall and then lead three successful possessions on three possessions in the fourth quarter, securing the victory by four points.

Denver boast the defensive player of the year in CB Pat Surtain II. They rank first in goal-line defense, whereas Philadelphia lead the league in red zone offence, yet the Broncos won that battle.

They executed the Eagles' number in terms of simulated pressure. They did not necessarily rushing extra pass rushers but they might position two linebackers in the interior before drop them out and send a nickel from the outside.

At the start in the campaign, it was noted on a program that Denver could be this season's dark horses. They finished the previous year strongly then excelled in continuing that momentum.

Could Denver be this year's dark horses?

Recently acquired TE their tight end has excelled big and recent running back their rusher is a player the team trusts. He's currently 5th in the NFL in ground gains (402) and tied-fourth for rushing touchdowns (4).

I love how the coach the Broncos' leader displays "RUN IT!" at the top of his playcall sheet.

This demonstrates that Denver represent a team that wants to run first, since one can do a lot off the back of that. It reduces opposing rushes and keeps you in favourable situations.

It's also helped quarterback the young passer, who entered into the league as a first-round selection last year, passing for 29 touchdown passes – second only to a star QB in rookie records (31 in 2020).

Other elite QBs possess powerful arms to throw anywhere, however they don't move in the same way that Nix has. He has incredible passing ability, which is different, plus he's so athletic.

His assets are his movement, the capacity to throw on the run, as well as finding varied release points to make throws as he moves out of the pocket, the bootlegs. He can throw that layered pass across the middle and over the corner.

As a rookie QB, aged 25, he displays great composure under pressure and isn't really fazed by extra rushers. He tries to evade being tackled as much as possible and is able throw in tight spots. He has sharp intelligence and is very decisive.

If you consistently rush it consumes the clock and forces the opponent to stay on the field for longer, and when you've got a mobile QB the defence must cover the area downfield side to side. It can be exhausting.

The quarterback has bitten back at Payton during games sometimes and I think Payton likes that fire, that he's a fierce rival. In my view it's exciting for the coach to have a rookie QB who's kind of like play-dough. The coach can really develop him how he wants to shape him. I think it's a special experience for the coach.

The head coach owns a championship and now passed Bill Parcells in all-time victories (173, tying for 14th). He has witnessed everything. I think the success the Broncos are experiencing on offence is mostly down to his leadership, his schemes, his game sense – and the combination with the QB helps shape him into who he is.

There's no better a more qualified person guiding you, to help you through some of the tougher situations and build confidence.

I believe in the Broncos' defense, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. Yet is the team good enough to face an elite team at its best? Since that was not championship-level play by the Eagles last Sunday.

Right now, it's unlikely Denver are elite. They're working above average, that's a solid position to be in their division. The key is to continue this trajectory.

They excel at leaning into their strength, that is the ground game, and this is precisely what they should do versus the Jets at Tottenham. It's going to be the JK Dobbins show, essentially.

The Jets have surrendered 140 rushing yards each contest (among the worst), five rushing touchdowns this season (10th worst), and they are the sole squad yet to win any game.

Ever since the NFL began tracking turnovers decades ago, the Jets are the inaugural squad to go without any turnovers in five outings, this is surprising considering that their new coach was previously a defensive coach with another team.

Patrick Mahomes says the Chiefs are off to a poor start following Monday's defeat by the Jaguars.

After this Sunday's game, Denver have a manageable slate up to their bye (in week 12) - the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, the Texans and Las Vegas Raiders before the Chiefs.

In the AFC West, the Chiefs are 2-3 while Denver are tied with the Los Angeles Chargers at 3-2 meaning they could challenge at leading the division.

It depends upon what version Kansas City shows up they meet since the Broncos {beat|def
