Former Doctor Accused of Assault Charges Against Thirty-Eight Patients

Legal authorities report that a ex- doctor has been charged with performing sexual assaults involving thirty-eight individuals who were under his care.

Details of the Grave Allegations

The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with numerous acts of sexual assault – some of which involve acts against children younger than 13 – between 2017 to 2021.

A deputy chief prosecutor said, “Legal teams have worked at length to assist a detailed and complex police inquiry, carefully reviewing the evidence to determine that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”

Scope of the Police Inquiry

These allegations come after what investigators described as a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.

Spencer is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.

Breakdown of Charges

The charging documents said the forty-five sexual offences include:

  • Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
  • Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
  • Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
  • Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
  • One count of attempting to assault by penetration.

Authorities are urging individuals with information to contact the investigating team.
