Football Expert Sutton Takes On Singer Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

Arsenal's 10-game winning streak came to an end by the Black Cats before the global hiatus, but can the Premier League frontrunners recover against local foes Spurs this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," stated soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still manage to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, against AI, fans and a variety of special visitors.

For week 12, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

The singer's new record, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.

Soccer and Parenting Life

Olly is a talented soccer player as well as a accomplished artist and has been a star of multiple Soccer Aid matches over time - but he is not planning a serious comeback as a player.

"{I actually played in a charity game the other night for a mate of mine," he said. "The team was losing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!

"I still love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my child or son chooses to play instead."

The singer and his wife his partner have a young family, their daughter and their son, and he is ready to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their manager.

"I will not push football on our children but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their Saturday soccer team," he said.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly was involved with a football club for a period too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a child, which is probably where I get it from. He coached our side for two or three years and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for their star's return from injury but their offense is already stronger with Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

I still think this fixture will be quite close, though. The Clarets are disciplined and their only home losses so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

It suggests a 1-1 draw to me, but I am actually going to go with the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's prediction: 1-2

The singer's prediction: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their past two games - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, the Hammers won back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those games were at home, they appear strong again.

West Ham's only away win this season came at Forest in August, when West Ham manager Nuno was still Forest manager.

Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - can the Hammers extending their streak under Nuno, or the home side bouncing back?

I will choose the Cherries, because I believe what happened against Villa was a blip.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

Olly's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have improved under their boss. 2-2

AI's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the frontrunners for relegation before the campaign began, but they have impressed a few observers under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three in their past four games.

A family member told me to select Bees forward Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will likely score again on Saturday but I am still not going to select him or support Brentford at Brighton's ground.

They have not had much success on the road this season, and Brighton are consistently strong at home. The visitors will try to attack on the break but I feel the home manager's team pose much more of a danger.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

Olly's view: This could be a match where you expect there is going to be a lot of scores but it actually proves to be rather tight. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive fixture for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six matches.

They have have lots of quality in their squad but it still seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.

Regarding Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the Premier League season so far.

The away side's performance in the two-all draw with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We have not seen any other team disrupt the Gunners like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing to do to support the visitors here, because they are clearly capable of roughing the hosts up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of last month.

However I am not going to choose that. Instead, I really need to carry on opposing the away team with my predictions. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their positive results because they evidently enjoy to defy my predictions.

Considering the home side's home form, the sole team they have lost to is Arsenal. Their manager's side will be absolutely eager for a positive outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three points.

Sutton's prediction: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I'm aware the visitors are performing strongly and also that Fulham are on a poor run... but Fulham have still been decent at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough fixture to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but could they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
